Check out how easy it is to update your drivers with Driver Robot.

Updating your drivers with Driver Robot is simple to do.

Here’s how you do it…

Step 1 — Create a system restore point

This step is optional, but I recommended you always create a system restore point before installing new drivers.

That way, if the driver doesn’t work as expected, you can easily restore your previous settings.

Check out Create a system restore point before installing drivers if you’re not sure how to do it.

Step 2 — Scan for driver updates

Start Driver Robot and click the huge black Start Scan (Recommended) button to scan for driver updates.

The scan shouldn’t take more than a minute or so.

Step 3 — Choose drivers to update

All outdated drivers a selected by default, so if you’re going to only update one, you’ll have to uncheck the others.

I’m going to update my Canon printer driver.

Step 4 — Download your new driver

Click Get Drivers.

Driver Robot will now download your new driver.

Step 5 — Install your new driver

Click Install to begin.

If the file is zipped, Driver Robot will launch your default zip utility and unpack the files.

(Check out my resources page if you don’t have an unzip utility.)

Driver Robot will now launch the driver’s installer.

Now follow the driver installer’s instructions to install your new driver.

Every installer is different, but it’s usually as simple as clicking “OK” a few times.

Step 6 — Restart your computer

After the installation process completes you’ll probably be prompted to restart your computer.

You either can restart it now, or you can update more drivers. It’s up to you.

And that’s it. Done.

Use Driver Robot's scheduler to regularly scan for driver updates and keep your PC up-to-date.

If you’ve invested in Driver Robot, you may as well get the most out of it, by having it regularly check for driver updates.

And rather than having to remember to scan for new drivers, you can use the scheduler to do all the remembering for you.

Here’s how you do it…

Step 1 — Open the scheduler

Start Driver Robot and click Settings on the main menu.

Then click Scheduler.

Step 2 — Choose the frequency of scans

You have several options, including daily, weekly, monthly, once, and at system start up.

I’ve gone for weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays at 15:07.

Click OK to confirm your changes.

Step 3 — Save your settings

Click Save All to save your new settings.

Because if you don’t, your scheduled scans won’t run.

And that’s it. Done

Is your computer slower than treacle after using Driver Robot? Here's how to fix it.

Have you used Driver Robot and are now wondering why your computer is slower than treacle?

Well, it’s because Driver Robot is still running in the background.

And for some reason it really hogs system resources.

My CPU usage stays at 100% while it’s running.

Now, this isn’t usually a problem, because if you’ve been using Driver Robot you’ll be restarting Windows after installing new drivers.

But if you quit it without installing drivers and you want your resources back, here’s what you need to do.

The quick fix

Look for the Driver Robot icon in your Windows® taskbar.

Right click it…

…then select Exit.

And that’s it. Done.
