Like to keep your drivers and software up-to-date? DriverCure makes it a piece of cake.

If you like to keep your drivers and software up-to-date, then DriverCure makes it drop-dead simple.

And it gives you two ways to do it:

1. Schedule regular scans for updates.

Or, even easier…

2. Get DriverCure to send you an email whenever an update is available.

I’ll start with…

Scheduled scans

Start DriverCure and click Schedule on the main menu.

Then click New…

It’s up to you how often you want to check for updates.

Twice a week sounds good to me, so I’m going for Monday and Thursday at 2pm.

You can also have DriverCure download any updates so they’re ready to install.

Click OK and your new schedule is set.

That’s it.

And so on to…

Email update notifications

Click Settings at the top right of the screen.

Then click Email Settings.

Fill in your name and email address.

The submit button appears after you’ve entered all your details.

Click Submit, then click OK.

And that’s it. Done.

Any questions?

Please use the comments form below or contact me if you have any questions about using DriverCure.

Give DriverCure a go

If you haven’t tried DriverCure, click the big red button below to download it directly from ParetoLogic’s secure server.

Did you know DriverCure updates your software as well as your drivers? Here's how to get the latest software.

In How to update your drivers with DriverCure I installed a driver via the scan results screen.

To update my software I’m going to use the scan History screen.

As the name suggests, it lists previous scan results, plus downloaded and installed drivers and software.

It also includes details of your driver and software versions, and details of the updates. Useful stuff.

Here’s how you do it…

Step 1 — Choose a previous scan

Start DriverCure and click History on the main menu.

Click the blue arrows next to the history item you want to access.

Now click on the plus symbol (+) to expend the results.

Step 2 — Choose the software to update

Once you’ve chosen what software to update, click on its Install link.

Step 3 — Confirm and download your update

You’ll now get a message asking if you’re sure you want to install the item.

Click Yes to continue.

DriverCure will now download your new software.

Step 4 — Install your new software

Once your software’s downloaded, DriverCure will open the download folder.

(The default download folder is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Downloads.)

Double click on the EXE file to start the installation.

Each program installs differently, so just follow the installer’s instructions.

Step 5 — Repeat as necessary

Unlike when you install drivers, you shouldn’t need to restart Windows.

So you can continue to update as many programs as you like.

And that’s it. Done.

Any questions?

Here’s how you do it…

Step 1 — Scan your PC for updates

Start Driver Checker and click Start Scan.

The scan shouldn’t take more than a minute or so.

Step 2 — Choose the software to update

Outdated software is listed at the bottom of the results, so scroll to the bottom.

If you have a long list of items, you can use the drop down menu to list just the outdated ones.

Now choose the software you want to update.

All items are checked by default, so you’ll have to uncheck all the ones you don’t want to update.

I’m going to update my Adobe Shockwave Player.

Step 4 — Install your updated software

Driver Checker will automatically launch the software’s installer as soon as it’s finished downloading.

Now follow the installer’s instructions to install it.
